A MAJOR BANK

Project Background

As the scale of banking operations continues to expand, the core business processes of a large bank, such as day-end batch processing, accounting, and fund clearing, have become increasingly complex. Previously, the bank had deployed multiple heterogeneous scheduling systems internally, supporting tasks for different business lines such as credit day-end batch processing, core system day-end batch processing, and accounting day-end batch processing, leading to:

Decentralized business workflows: Each batch processing workflow operates independently, with chaotic cross-system dependencies, leading to low collaboration efficiency.

High operation and maintenance costs: With multiple systems being maintained in parallel, the operation and maintenance team needs to manage them separately, resulting in frequent manual intervention and scattered risk points.

Difficult to control: Lacking a comprehensive perspective, it is impossible to uniformly monitor and control batch processing tasks across the entire bank, making troubleshooting of anomalies challenging.

To address the aforementioned pain points, the bank leveraged WLOADCTL to integrate multiple internal heterogeneous scheduling systems, establish an enterprise-level unified scheduling platform, and achieve standardized and centralized management of batch processing operations across the bank.

Technical Solution

Technical Solution Topology

Based on WLOADCTL, the bank has established a bank-wide one-click batch processing workflow, achieving an upgrade from decentralized batch processing to unified scheduling. The core implementation contents include:

Centralized scheduling of multi-system batch processing tasks

Integrate the previously fragmented processes such as credit day-end batch processing, core system day-end batch processing, and accounting day-end batch processing into centralized management tasks under a unified scheduling platform, achieving a transformation from "multiple begin/end processes" to "a unified Begin-End workflow".

Visual orchestration of complex cross-business line links

Through the visual orchestration capabilities of WLOADCTL, we can organize and connect all business nodes such as the cash system, wealth management system, credit system, core system, data warehouse, accounting system, and risk control system, forming an end-to-end daily batch processing workflow, and clarifying the dependencies and execution order between each system.

Automated triggering and parallel execution control

Implement scheduled triggering of tasks (such as automatically starting batch processing at 9:30 AM), and support parallel scheduling of tasks across multiple business lines, such as simultaneous execution of system tasks for cash, wealth, and capital, significantly reducing the overall batch processing window.

Global centralized monitoring and operation and maintenance governance

Unified monitoring is conducted on the operational status of batch processing tasks across the entire bank, with real-time tracking of task execution progress and abnormal situations. Meanwhile, through standardized operation and maintenance processes, rapid identification and resolution of task anomalies are achieved, enhancing operation and maintenance efficiency.

Application effect

The efficiency of batch processing has been significantly enhanced: a one-click start for the bank-wide batch processing workflow has been achieved, significantly boosting cross-system collaboration efficiency. The daily batch processing window has been significantly shortened, meeting the timeliness requirements of banking business.

Significant reduction in operation and maintenance costs: The integration of multiple heterogeneous systems into a unified scheduling platform has reduced manual intervention steps. The operation and maintenance team no longer needs to manage multiple systems separately, resulting in a significant overall reduction in operation and maintenance costs.

Enhanced risk management and control capabilities: Global centralized monitoring has achieved visualized control over the entire batch processing workflow, enabling rapid identification and handling of abnormal tasks. This has effectively reduced the risk of business interruptions and ensured the stable operation of core businesses such as fund clearing and accounting.

Comprehensive improvement in business collaboration capabilities: The unified scheduling platform has broken down the information barriers between various business line systems, enabling smooth flow of data and processes, and providing solid support for the bank's digital operations.
